The song was written in the night after a magical encounter… At the moment I wrote the lyrics, I did not even know that both of us had Frisian roots. Neither did I know what the term “Twallingstriel” ment. And that two years later a movie would appear was a dream coming true.
I don’t believe in fairytales. But I do believe in the power of words, in the power of dreams and since the night I wrote the song “Twallingstriel” I believe in magic as well….

We can look back on the process of making Twallingstriel’s video clip with pride and gratitude. My thanks go to the entire team with whom we made it happen. These were intensive shooting days in various places in the country. My special thanks go to director Daniel, Camera crew and production (Aukje, Fernando, Arjen). Our actors Sietse and Wietske. And I also thank Jurcka Antiek in Utrecht where we were allowed to use a beautiful medieval cellar, the woman who spontaneously offered us coffee in Loenen aan de Vecht, the bridge keeper who kept boats waiting, Sandy and Sandra and anyone else I have forgotten. to name.
